March 3, 2008: and suddenly it's been and gone...  If you attended and haven't yet given your comments, we would appreciate it if you did.  Please let us know what worked well, what did not work for you, and any suggestions you might have for doing better next time.  Please download the form, complete it, and email a copy to John at jroyce@robcol.k12.tr.  Thank you!

February 21, 2008: we are almost there!  Wow!!

To get from airport to hotel: taxi is easiest.  The hotel web site includes estimate of prices.  For those on a budget, look at the VBB departure info on the Berlin Airports site.  Make sure you use the right tab for your airport!

You'll find links to more information about Berlin on our About Berlin page.

See you soon!

February 7, 2008: The programme is now available.  There may yet be a few changes, but we are almost there!

We will be posting conference news here - so check in at least once a week now.  Handouts will be posted when they become available.

Be sure to bring some money; as well as the now traditional arts and crafts stalls (ideal for quick souvenir and presents shopping without leaving the conference), there will be books for sale - including special promotions for our guest speakers. Booksigning session on Saturday afternoon -  buy (or bring) and get 'em signed!

February 2, 2008: Registration is now closed on the pre-conference workshops, as well as for the main conference.  Note, however, that we have a few early registrations who appear to have paid nothing. They have been sent one last request/ warning: if proof of payment is not received by 23:59 (German time) on February 4, their registrations will be cancelled, and their places offered, in order, to those on the waiting list.  It could be that some on the waiting list are no longer able to take a place, in which case we shall advertise on the ECIS listserv and on iSkoodle.  If YOU are waiting for a place, stay alert and be prepared to act.

January 22, 2008:  ECIS is permitting us to take registrations for the pre-conference workshops from participants who are not registered for the main conference. This is because the main conference is full.  It is also a one-off permit which will not set precedent for other ECIS conferences, nor for future librarians' conferences.

The number of available places at each of the pre-conference workshops is limited;  places will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.  Further details about the workshops and meetings can be found on the pre-Conference Workshops page.

December 28, 2007: it's time to close the waiting list!  We don't want to turn anyone away, but there is no point raising hopes.

The next triennial conference will be in school year 2010-2011.  When we are ready to advertise, we shall send a one-time notice to everyone who attends the 2008 conference.  We are happy to add names and email addresses of those who don't get to Berlin.  If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please send us your name and email address.

December 17, 2007: we have almost filled our quota, we cannot take many more registrations.  The holiday season is looming, and we may not be able to check daily for new registrations.  Rather than over-subscribe, it seems fairer to put a hold on new registration and to start a waiting list.  Please complete the standard registration form linked from the Registration & Fees page.  We'll be in touch with you in the New Year.

Registration closed on December 17, 2007.

December 3, 2007:  we have about filled the rooms allocated to us at the Conference Hotel.  We have block-booked more rooms at a hotel of similar quality close by.  The same price applies.

Two more guest speakers make this the conference even better value, even more worth attending.  We are pleased to announce that Theresa Breslin is joining us in Berlin, as is Linda Cornwell (who is sponsored by Scholastic Inc). More details on our Speakers page.

Less good news: Mandarin Library Solutions has put its pre-conference user-group meeting on hold and may have to cancel it.

The programme/ schedule is being revised in light of our new guest speakers.  However, we can confirm that the conference will close by 12.30 at latest on Sunday 2 March.

Follett Software Company has announced a full day training session on Thursday 28 February. More details on the pre-Conference Workshop/s page.

Author, storyteller, librarian Margaret Read MacDonald has confirmed she'll be joining us in Berlin.  We're definitely GOING PLACES! - are you coming too?
(More details on our Speakers page.)

ALSO: you can now make your payment using Visa or Mastercard!  More details on the Registration & Fees page.

ALSO: User Group Meetings:
Mandarin Library Automation Inc
. is hosting a full day Users Group meeting on Thursday 28 February.
Softlink Europe is hosting half-day meetings for Alice and Oliver User Groups, also on Thursday 28 February.

More details on the
pre-Conference Workshop/s page.

=======================================

The programme is all but complete, and any proposals now received will be placed on a waiting list!  Go to the Presentation Proposals page to download a list of accepted proposals.

To qualify for the early-bird discount, you will need to register and pay before November 30, 2007.  Don't leave it to the last minute!! Go to our Registration and fees page to book your place at the conference, the workshop, and the hotel.

Ross Todd, our keynote speaker for the conference proper, will lead an optional one-day workshop on Thursday 28 February 2008.

Details of the workshop are now available: the workshop fee (additional to conference fees) is €100.00.

How do you decide which conference sessions to attend? How much do you get out of conferences you attend? Does your school really benefit?  Gain insight and ideas from Knowledge Quest Web Edition (March/April 2007), now online.  It's a conference special, packed with articles to give some interesting, unusual and entertaining insights and tips on the conference experience.

Ross Todd to present the keynote address.

Other guest speakers include Patrick Jones and Toni Buzzeo.

Our previous conferences have taken place in schools.  This is our first venture into a conference centre.  Our grateful thanks to iExperience for holding our hands, taking on much of the conference donkey work, and helping us keep costs down.

Grateful thanks, too, to these other companies who are sponsoring conference events, making it all possible.
